T minus one day

Tom is likely doing the same thing I am, trying to get that last minute packing done and then attempt to get a good nights rest. As a family we have spent the last couple of days just getting things done, and trying to have some time together. We were able to go for a bike ride this afternoon, which was good. An adventure on the new trails near our house. But we have also had to get a new camera, fill the cars with, gas, have a meeting with our friends Phil and Dawn about some matters at church, mow the lawn, fill up the water softener with salt, helping Amy with a project she has been trying to get done on a chair, make dinner, confirm my plane itinerary, and take the dog out....life doesn't stop.

On top of all, we have felt lead by the Spirit to offer a place to stay for one of my track girls. Her brother is in jail in Kansas, and her mother feels she should go to be near him. He is facing the death penalty. We want to help her have a stable place to grow, and the environment back in Kansas would not be good for her. Anyway, by faith, we have offered, please pray for this opportunity to change one life. We know it is the right thing to do. She is very dear to our heart.

Off to Russia tomorrow. Dobre noche'

Welcome! Travel to Ryazan with us October 21-31

This is where I will attempt to make a daily entry about my whereabouts and the happens during our travels. The current trip is to Ryazan, Russia to consult, advise, and coach some brothers with Slavic Gospel Association about how to use business for the Kingdom. They have started a small door and window manufacturing company which has experienced some success in the past, but is on hold because of poor equipment, and other unknown reasons. We will prayerfully attempt to access the situation and advise them about the future of this endeavor. Then we can decide together to modernize this effort or look for something else which can be helpful to them.

Please pray for:

1. Discernment to acknowledge what has already been done as good, and what needs to be done away with.
2. Our Russian brothers, SGA team, and us will be of one accord as to what is next.
3. We can create a feasibility report that will point all (cooperating churches in the Quad Cites, USA, the brothers in Ryazan, SGA, and us) in the same direction and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
4. The resources to carry out what the Lord has in mind. (both Russian and elsewhere)

5. A vision to arise out of our time here for:

a. the use of Kingdom business to reach the unreached & least evangelized among the peoples of Russian

b. That our Russian brothers will embrace the vision of Paul to work as apostles (church planters) and as business people to create a self sustaining movement for Christ which is increasingly and eventually no longer dependent on western financial resources. May God Unleash them into the harvest.

For His Glory,
Scott
